SALT to CATCH GHOSTS, a group exhibition curated by Ashara Ekundayo, opening at /(slash) on Friday, September 9, with a reception from 5 to 8pm that will begin with a salt ceremony and artist talk. The exhibition will feature large-scale installation and photography, textile, and video works by nine artists from the Bay Area and across the US—JOJO ABOT, April Bey, Kenturah Davis, Shanequa Gay, Adebunmi Gbadebo, Courtney Desiree Morris, Sabrina Nelson, brontë velez, and Sarah Kirnon, who is creating an accompanying soundtrack engaging themes of salt water.
