San Francisco artist and colorist Leah Rosenberg elaborates on the various systems of expression present in select works on view in Color Code.

McEvoy Arts invites local artist and renowned colorist Leah Rosenberg to lead a guided tour examining the underlying social systems present in the work on view in Color Code. During this brief interactive session, Rosenberg and McEvoy Arts exhibitions and public programs curator Amanda Nudelman facilitate close reads of specific artworks to break down the role color plays in expressing their ideas. Along the way, Rosenberg contextualizes the works within her career-long exploration of the emotional and psychological impact of color in everyday life, touching on color’s ability to mark a moment in time or function as a universal language.

McEvoy Arts’ free Gallery Sessions invite artists and curators to explore and contemplate works on view with visitors in an intimate setting.
