Eleanor Harwood Gallery is pleased to present Hunter Saxony III second solo show with the gallery Piece of a (Black) Man in Minnesota Street Project’s main atrium. Hunter Saxony III presents Pieces of A (Black) Man in conjunction with the Museum of African Diaspora SF’s (MoADSF) Black Art Week in San Francisco October 1-6. Pieces of the Black Man is a reference to a 90’s HipHop album by the rapper AZ and also a subtle reference to Terry Williams whose house was recently burned down 6 blocks from the artists’ home after several racially charged attacks. Hunter Saxony III's works present themselves as meditations, place holders of intention and of respite. They serve as metaphorical “Pieces” of the Artist, by continuing to pair the technical and historically rich style of Pictorial Calligraphy with Contemporary themes and messaging.
